Self-employed invoicing: frequently asked questions

Q-01Is VeriFactu mandatory for the self-employed?
VeriFactu is the Spanish Tax Agency's verifiable invoicing system. For the self-employed it will be mandatory from 2027 (companies start earlier, in 2026). YOTU Facturas is already ready for VeriFactu, so you can invoice with peace of mind and reach the deadline without switching software.
Q-02Can I create invoices as a self-employed worker for free?
Yes. With YOTU you get a 30-day free trial, no credit card and with all features included. During that period you can create as many invoices as you need as a self-employed worker. When the trial ends you decide whether to continue; nothing is charged automatically.
Q-03How do I add withholding tax to an invoice?
Withholding tax (IRPF) is a deduction that many self-employed workers must apply when invoicing companies or other professionals. In YOTU you enable the withholding on the invoice and the percentage is automatically deducted from the total, along with VAT. The client sees the base, the VAT and the withholding clearly.
Q-04Do I need to install anything on my computer?
No. YOTU Facturas runs in the cloud, straight from your browser, with no installations or manual updates. You can invoice from your computer, tablet or phone, and your data is saved and available from any device you sign in on.
Q-05Can I track my expenses as a self-employed worker?
Yes. In addition to invoices, YOTU lets you log your expenses and organize them by category. That way you keep your income and expenses in view and reach every quarterly tax filing with everything in order, without rebuilding it all from spreadsheets at the end of the quarter.
